The engines roared out at 0830 for a BEAUTIFUL weather and scenery ride to Gettysburg PA and return!
LPD Motor Officers
A chance to play Poker and win many prizes donated by a huge list of local busineeses who support this wonderful project, as you enjoy a group ride led and escorted by the Motor Officers of the Leesburg Police Department and many other jurisdictions. This was probably the largest Motor Officer Escort Contingency in the 11year history!
Special assistance from many law enforcement agencies throughout the trip made this a safe and pleasant day to raise monies for the
Virginia Special Olympics!
Lots of prizes were awarded after the delicious lunch and all riders had returned. NO ONE had any accidents and no breakdowns either!!!
That's a successful ride!

Anderson - Top Shot productions (present 9 of the last 11 years!) throughout the day at Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company Station 1, on 215 Loudoun St. SW in Leesburg, VA. The Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company allowed their station facility to be the center of the event.
With the enthusiastic support of Leesburg Police Chief Joe Price, a lot of hard work and coordination by Motor Officer Bill Wolfe, his partner Mark McCartney, the support of his fellow officers - the ones who risk their lives every day to protect us, and the Citizen Support Team, this year the event had a goal of $ 10,000 to provide financial benefit for those special kids we all love -
The Virginia Special Olympics!
Special Guest Speaker Russell Turner - Gold Medalist (Holds State Record for bench press!!!) and spokesperson for this region - received cheers and applause as he told his story and how important the Special Olympics were to him and many others...
AND THEN - the tote board was read out loud by Russell...
The total PROFIT for Special Olympics for 2007:
Over $14,000.00+
A new record to beat next year!
