RAIDERS FOOTBALL!

"Snooks" Berliner riding the gray horse with the Raiders Flag up and down the sideline each time the Raiders scored ...The LCHS Raiders Marching Band playing the school fight song...the Cheerleaders cheering the players, exciting the crowd, chanting players names in the cheers...Coaches Larsen, John Vance, Kenny Vance, Jerry Shipp, Fritz Scholz, Bill Shirley, Phil Bolen, and more who taught us winning wasn't all there was - Sportsmanship was the key to character - we often won the trophy presented each year to the most sportsmanlike school...Great memories, great teammates, hard work, but fun...

Thanks to all our Coaches - for building character, spirit, and teamwork within us!

Kicking the winning point at the Fauquier County High game! - the Raiders comeback was one of their finest - down 19-7 with 4 minutes left they marched down the field for 2 consecutive and unanswered touchdowns to tie the game at 19-19! But then the task of winning the game fell on the extra point by placekicker "J.B." Anderson (yep! That's me!) [center Dan Gill, holder Tommy Cook and a great front line]. The kicker splits the uprights and put LCHS on top 20-19 with only 40 seconds left as Fauquier tried to come back - BUT - Defensive linebacker Tommy Lee picked off a pass in the flats and returned it for another touchdown! The field went wild as the clock ran out - the referees cleared the field and Anderson split the uprights again!

AND THE FINAL SCORE: 27-19 RAIDERS!

Little did they know the artistic cover would be deja vu' as how the game would be decided. Many of the stars that night signed this historic document. Kinda makes you feel like you are part of history! :)
